Film
film talk!!
.
here is my review of american history X- Sorry this has many spoilers in it i didnt know how else to talk about it, I don't know how to feel about this movie. It shows the perspective of racism through racists and it does a really good job at showing the struggle of getting out of these beliefs and how it really messes with yours and others heads. I really enjoy the prison scene where Dereks friend tells him how he got 6 years for a small crime and a minor accident and it made him realize how unfair everything that he was fighting for was was, the prison scene also shows the difficulties one has to face for changing, even if it is for the good. I don't think that what Derek did was okay or redeemable but the fact that he is trying to make things better shows that at least he understands his wrongdoings and is trying to stop the cycle from continuing. And the ending was so powerful, i honestly expected that Derek was going to be the one to die and i think it being Danny makes it so much more real. the film is very slow paced and i did get bored in some scenes however i think its a very important film with an important message from a very interesting perspective . I really enjoyed the acting from everyone in the movie and the score was really good at giving emotion to the scenes. .
here is my review on donnie darko- I hate this movie, its a great concept BUT i should have to read what the movie is about after seeing it. The end where everything kinda puzzles together i really see the potential of this movie and rewatching it its easier to understand but i dont think movies should be like that. I dont get the hype sorry.
here is my review on a clockwork orange- I really enjoyed this film. Especially the composition of the scene it gave me very wes anderson vibes but like a erotic wes anderson, the colour coordination and the centered and even spacing between characters and objects. though most of the world was dirty and bland there was always some bit of it that was eye-catching, i loved the design of Alexs parents house- especially the living room when he had just gotten out, the pink of the clothes contasted to the blue of the walls and alexs dark suit against the vibrant pink wall. Im not sure if i got the whole concept of the movie itself but it was still very enjoyable- i was more focused on the filming.

Buffalo 66 review
oh my god... this film is amazing
.
this is probably the longest movie review ive ever made- i wrote a review on funny games in my notebook that was four pager long but im pretty sure this is muchh longer- but it deserves it because i love this film so much. ALTSO MAJOR SPOILERS .
I love this film so much, i think some (not all but some) people get the film wrong- reading peoples reviews i see alot of them saying it was really bad and that he painted himself out to be the hero with a girl for sexual pleasures to accompany him… WHAT? Did you even watch the movie, billy is pathetic, he cries all the time thinks hes the victim, is good at bowling and whines all the time, and whenever Layla says anything that implies romance he doesn't want any of it- until the end when he realizes that he acctually does love her. .
I think this film is a great representation of someone who wants prove a point that they can make it, from the dinner scene you could see the tension between billy and his dad and the neglectful behavior with billy and his mom- not to mention how creepy his dad was to Layla all the time. And i think billy definitely was victimizing himself alot and allat, but mostly trying to prove to his parents that he wasn’t affected by all the abuse and bad luck in his life by creating this false reality for himself and trying to get his parents to pay attention and like him- this is altso shown when they are saying goodbye to layla and billy and they only praise and say goodbye to Layla and don't even look at billy. I altso think that the film is a good representation of Stockholm syndrome in a way, Layla -from what i believe we got to see in her first scene- she had a pretty boring life and wasn't really enjoying it. And being abducted and put into this weird situation with this strange angry man that keeps telling you to pretend to be his wife, i think she found it somewhat exiting, even though its horrible i think she wanted to find out who billy really was inside. I mean she could clearly tell that there was something wrong with his family and it probably had some impact on him and she just wanted to see the true him. .
I was fully convinced that Layla was going to not be in the hotel room when billy came back- i was so sure that she was only being all loving and sweet and giving him compliments all the time was because she was scared of what he was going to do to her, in the beginning when he first kidnapped her and holds her down you can see her pulling down her skirt ready for the worst possible outcome- so she was definitely scared that something like that was going to happen and honestly this is the only bit of the film that i don't fully get because if i was in that situation i would probably Altso be nice to billy so that nothing would happen to me but then as soon as he left id run- i get that it was probably because her life was boring and she enjoyed the excitement and wanted to see the true him underneath all that trauma and such but yeah, i still do t really get it. .
I Also believe that this film is a bit of a satire in some ways. Its definitely a strange and uncomfortable film but thats definitely the point because its such a strange bit of their lives that we are thrown into. .
I really enjoyed this film- i think it shows how love really is the answer to all, in a very strange yet beautiful way.

The IT crowd
now im going to rant about the it crowd because its like genuenly the best comedy show ever!
- 1. British Media just does characters better! ok so they dont always do it better but they defenetly mastered it on the it crowd, british meia is more centered to life and that makes the characters way more real, when me and my friend watched the it crowd we defenetly saw ourselves in the characters and that made the things that happend so much more funny- people just look more real in older british shows, theres not alot of makeup and filters and their teeth look normal!! (it hurts me when characters have the most perfect pearly whites- especially if they are like poor characters)
- 2. Satire and Comedy! The IT crowd is a comedy- (SPOILERS)it centers around a office space in the basement where the IT section is, Jen is new to the job and she has lied that she is good with technology (which she isnt) and she gets sent down to the IT department as a relationships manager- in the basement she has to work with Moss and Roy who are a classic nerd and geek duo, they get up to shenanigans and allat. in the show every character is equally as wacky, in most comedy shows with a simmilar format to this usually one of the characters (usually the girl) is more down to earth and is there to ground the other characters- but like i said everyone is equally as strange and comedical and they build upon eachothers jokes making the show just so much better!
- 3.A Satire Show Done Well Usually comedy shows have a point where it stops and goes on to the second bit of the story- the IT crowd does no have that- their episodes consist of it all being comedy because of how satire every character is- youve got the Nerd the Geek the "Normal" (Jen thinks shes the normal one but shes far from it) the overly controlling but loveable boss, the very into women boss, the Goth and all the other strange background characters. the whole show is a satire of a comedy show where nothing is normal and yet the characters are so real- most satire shows only focus on one thing but this show makes fun of everyone all the time! its baisically bullying you but its so fun!!11!
- anyways you should watch the IT crowd !!!!!
